Create a Shipping Order

Create a Shipping order when the customer wants the order shipped to a specified address.

For example, the customer orders from a website selling products from a virtual store location. In this situation orders being fulfilled from a warehouse use a shipping provider to ship the order directly to the address specified by the customer.

Creating the Order:

1. Use the Scope Selector to select a sales or dependent scope .

You cannot create an order from the Global scope

2. Click Create New Order.
3. Select a Customer if required.
4. Specify the Order type, click Shipping.

You can change the Order type from the Destination tab in the New Order lightbox at any point before you click start order.

a. Specify an address in the Destination tab if required. See Select an existing address or Add an address to a new order.
5. Specify the Order location that will process the order.

You cannot update the Order Location after an order has been validated and submitted. If the Order Location was incorrectly assigned and you need to update the order after it was submitted, you must cancel the order, and then create a new order with the Order Location correctly assigned.

a. Click the Fulfill order from this location drop-down menu and select a Fulfillment Location from the list. Choose from either a Store, Warehouse, or Assign automatically.

The fulfillment locations displayed in the list and order options can vary depending on the options specified in the Stores Details Panel and the Order Configuration Details Panel.

6. Click Start Order.

The Order Modification lightbox is displayed.

Completing the order details:

1. In the Items section, add items to the cart. See Add Items to a Cart.
2. In the Fulfillment section, complete the fulfillment options.
3. In the Payment section, select a Payment method. See Select A Payment Method.
4. In the Discounts section, add a coupon to the order, if applicable. See Add a coupon to a new order.
5. In the Attributes section, complete the order attribute information, if applicable.
6. Click View Order Summary.

When there is missing or incorrect information in your order sections are highlighted by the icons to identify the areas that require attention. Ensure that these issues are resolved before submitting your order.

7. Click Submit Order.

You can only submit orders that contain back order items when the Back Order check box has been selected in the Product Administration configuration. Any items that have an Out of Stock status will prevent the order from being submitted.

The submitted order appears on the page with an order number and a new status.

The following message is displayed at the bottom of the screen.

Order Confirmation - Order number nnnnnnn has been successfully submitted.

8. Click the View Order button.

The lightbox closes and the updated order is displayed.
